31st December 2018 to 11th January 2019 

World Championships

 01-03 January 2020: Official Practice Days
03 Jan January 2020: 19:00 hrs Official opening
04-17 January 2020: Competition Days - 14 in total
18 January 2020: 10:00 hrs Official closing ceremony.

Club & Sports Class Nationals & Womens World Gliding Chamionship Pre-Worlds 2018

Date - Monday 31st December 2018 to Friday 11th January 2019. Practice days 30th December.

Entry fee - AUD $380.

Gliders - Bring your own aircraft, or you can hire one of locally. Gliders from the LKSC glider fleet may be available for exclusive comp bookings on a first come basis. See the LKSC website ( for fleet details and contact the Pre-Worlds organisers for pricing details.

Accommodation - Limited onsite cabin accommodation is available on a first come basis, and ample camping space is available. Further accommodation is available in the adjoining state park if required, with all accommodation details on the website.

Launch costs – Aerotows to 2,000’ agl, AUD $70.00.

Catering - Dinners will be provided each evening at a modest cost or dine out in town.

GPS Loggers 

It is the responsibility of the pilot to ensure that they have appropriate downloading software for their own GPS Datalogger – pilots will be expected to upload their own GPS log traces to the internet website provided by the organisers.



A working radio with frequencies 122.025, 122.5, 122.7, 122.9, 126.7, 127.8, 127.4, 127.1, 121.5, 129.15 & 132.25 must be fitted.


A working Flarm proximity warning device must be fitted to each aircraft.


Registration Requirements.

When registering you will be required to show:

  • Log book with current Annual Flight Review.
  • A current maintenance Release for the Glider.
  • Current GFA membership card. 


I/we acknowledge that gliding is a hazardous sport and that competition gliding involves added risks. I hereby apply to enter the 2018-2019 Womens World Gliding Championship Pre-Worlds competition and agree to accept these risks and abide by the governing Competition Rules and any variations that may be circulated as Local Rules and note that in particular that if any aircraft does not meet the airworthiness requirements of these rules, entry application may be rejected.

I/we specifically agree to waive all claims against the competition organisers, the Gliding Federation of Australia and the Lake Keepit Soaring Club Inc either by me/us or by any other person claiming through me/us or on my behalf. In consideration of my/our being permitted to compete I/we agree to indemnify and keep indemnified the Gliding Federation of Australia and the members thereof, the Lake Keepit Soaring Club Inc and any person or persons having the control of or assisting with the 2018-2019 Womens World Gliding Championship Pre-Worlds competition (including matters ancillary to the competition) against all or any claim or claims for willful or negligent acts or breach of duty or otherwise made upon it by me/us or any other person or persons arising directly or indirectly from my/our participation in the 2018-2019 Womens World Gliding Championship Pre-Worlds competition.

I/we agree to abide by all rules and regulations of the club.

Entry fee includes GST and temporary membership to the Lake Keepit Soaring Club.
